Our new summer Writing for College class is an anxiety-busting, skill-building, and understanding-deepening program that will help you prepare for the level of writing your college professors will expect.
- Review the basics of good academic writing
- Refresh essentials like thesis, structure, and argument
- Explore the more sophisticated techniques used in college-level writing.
You will be introduced to some of the most common assignment types, including close readings, the “lens” essay, and the research paper.
You will leave the class with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of academic writing, and a good sense of what to expect (and how to handle it!) at the start of Freshman year.
This course will meet Mondays for 6 consecutive weeks:
July 8, 15, 22 & 29, August 5 & 12
Time: 10-12:30 or 1-3:30 (2.5 hours)
The course fee is $300
