Open Position: Adult Education and Literacy Program Manager
The Tutorial Center, Bennington County’s Adult Education and Literacy Center, is seeking an Adult Education and Literacy Program Manager. The Tutorial Center is in its 50th year as a nonprofit organization with sites in Bennington and Manchester Vermont. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
· Recruiting, admitting, and retaining students for educational programs
· Creating student individual learning plans and graduation plans
· Supervising instructional staff and all aspects of adult education classes, including staff professional development requirements
· Maintaining student records
· Creating monthly and quarterly reports for the VT Agency of Education
· Producing other reports as necessary to ensure compliance with grant requirements
· Meeting with and communicating regularly with the Executive Director
· Attending necessary meetings with AOE, WIOA, local school personnel, etc.
· Recruiting and supervising students in Education and Training Programs
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
· Experience in Adult Education
· Understanding of proficiency-based education
· Understanding of the barriers students face
· Familiar with educational databases
· Experience with Workforce/Career preparation activities and on-site community placements
· Experience working with non-native learners
· Experience supervising others
· Superior writing and speaking skills
· Self-motivated and independent worker
· Proven record of accomplishment
This is a year-round full-time (35 hours per week) position with paid holidays, medical, vision and dental benefits, and a 401k. Yearly salary range is $42,000-$45,000
